Seniors

Senior pupil holding two orangesThe move from Juniors to the senior department is a very big step for pupils and compares to a move from Primary School to Secondary School. However, being on the same site ensures the added security of maintaining contact with staff and friends as well as participating in regular whole school events such as assembly.

The seniors follow the national curriculum similar to mainstream schools but adapted to suit the learning needs of our pupils. We expect pupils to work hard but equally to have a lot of fun whilst learning. There are 3 classes and most of our formal learning is done in those class groups.

The classes integrate every Tuesday afternoon for sports, leisure and citizenship activities. We encourage all our pupils to be responsible for themselves and their belongings as far as is possible. Our aim is to teach them the skills that will help them cope when they move on to college or other post school provision.
